Astralis vs. Heroic, Preview & Prediction - Free 9/30 CS:GO

Astralis is a favorite in this all-Danish matchup despite the fact that Heroic is the better-ranked team at the moment. Astralis is in a better form right now, which is the biggest reason for the role of a favorite, but Heroic has the quality to cause them problems on Wednesday. The winner of this clash will take on BIG in the Upper semis of the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe.

Astralis Team Stats and Latest Results

Astralis is currently the 9th team in the CS:GO tour, but their form has been extraordinary of late. They won each of the last six matches following an opening loss to Complexity at this tournament, and are the hottest team here, which is a reason for a favorite tag in this duel against Heroic. Astralis dropped only three maps in those six victories; to Vitality, mousesports, and fnatic. They won eight of the previous ten matches.

In the last three months, Astralis was invincible on Nuke (seven times played) and (Overpass) played once), and was above average on Train (66.7%) and Dust2 (60.0%). On the other side, they lost their only appearance on Vertigo and didn’t play well on Inferno (33.3%). Although they assembled a new lineup this month, Astralis recorded 12 wins and three losses on 15 maps with new players. The lineup consists of dupreeh (1.10), gla1ve (1.11), device (1.17), es3tag (1.22), and Magisk (1.16).

Heroic Team Stats and Latest Results

Heroic isn’t in such a great form at the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe, but still, they managed to reach the playoffs and join the top eight teams in the world right now. They started this tournament with a couple of losses to ENCE and AGO but then recorded four wins in five matches, including the latest one over OG to get this far. Heroic won eight of the last 11 games.

During the past three months, Heroic impressed on Train (75.0%) and Nuke (71.4%), while they displayed strong performances on Mirage (66.7%), Overpass (66.7%), and Inferno (66.7%). On the other hand, they were below average on Dust2 (33.3%) and Vertigo (33.3%). Heroic has more experience when it comes to team members as their lineup is playing with the current five since June 2020, and has a record of 39 wins and 22 losses on 61 maps. The team members are cadiaN (1.06), b0RUP (0.98), niko (1.13), stavn (1.10), and TeSeS (1.07).

Astralis vs. Heroic H2H Record

These rivals have met just once before, and Astralis won that clash at the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – Europe in May this year.

Astralis vs. Heroic Betting Preview

Although Astralis is playing in a better form right now, I don’t agree with the bookmakers and low odds on them to win. Both teams have the quality to go all the way at this tournament and I wouldn’t bet my money on Astralis to get a victory. They met once before and although Astralis won that tilt 2-0, it was quite tight on both maps (16-14 and 19-16), so I expect another close encounter. I am going with Over 2.5 maps.

The Pick: Over 2.5 Maps (+108 @GG.BET)
