We have a lower bracket battle upcoming from the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 - Asia between Beyond and Lucid Dream. This contest is scheduled as a best-of-three-map affair. The winner of this match will stay alive in the tournament and move on to face ViCI Gaming for a trip to the finals. The loser won't be so lucky as they will be eliminated from the tournament. All four teams remaining are locked into a prize payout, now there's bragging rights along with more money on the line.

Beyond Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 96th

Beyond was completely outmatched in their tournament debut againg TYLOO. They weren't overly competitive and fell 2-0 to the team who has already sealed their bid to the Grand Final. Beyond's best map was Cobblestone before it was removed from competitive play. Since then, Vertigo and Train have by far been their best maps with win rates of over 60% on both of these maps. Overpass and Inferno have been their worst maps over history with win rates close to 40%.

The statistical team leader of Beyond is Olivia, and he will be heavily relied on. Over the past three months, he has averaged 0.77 kills per round while only dying 0.65 times a round. They have a few players with kill to death ratios around one, and qqGOD could potentially carry the team also. Over the last three months, qqGOD has averaged a nice 0.73 kills per round, but he needs to clean his game up some as he has also been killed 0.7 times a round during this same period.

Lucid Dream Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 98th

Lucid Dream, much in the same form as their opponent, were overmatched in their DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 - Asia debut. They weren't able to give ViCi Gaming much competition as they were dropped 2-0. Lucid Dream has a pretty diverse map pool with win rates over 60% on four maps (Inferno, Train, Overpass and Nuke) over the past three months. Their win rate is 80+% on Inferno, Train and Overpass also.

All of Lucid Dream's success comes from behind PTC and cbbk. PTC has averaged 0.71 kills with only 0.62 deaths a round over the last three months while cbbk has averaged 0.7 kills per round while only dying 0.62 times round. The other three players on the roster can all be inconsistent which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it isn't a good thing either. The key to victory for Lucid Dreams is simply to stick to their style of strategic play and rely on a nice team effort.

Pick: Under 2.5 Rounds (-140 @ Bovada)

If you can find a better price somehow to play Lucid Dream, go for it. Lucid Dream is the much better team here although neither have been overly dominant. Olivia is the best threat for Beyond, but it gets rough past him. Lucid Dreams has already blanked Beyond three times this year since March and I fully expect them to do the same here. Bovada hasn't released a spread, so I'll play the under instead as I have Lucid Dream winning this contest 2-0.
