Gronk traded to Bucs

Earlier on Tuesday, former New England tight end Rob Gronkowski and current WWE performer had started making waves that he was interested in playing football game after taking the 2019 season off. According to Ian Rappaport (@RapSheet), Gronk wanted to play for Tampa Bay and with Tom Brady again.

Since the Patriots still owned his rights, the only way that could have happened was if they traded him. Just hours later, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and multiple reports, that's exactly what they did. The Pats traded the 30-year old former All-Pro tight end to the Bucs and a seventh-round pick for Tampa Bay's fourth-round pick.

This is a stunning turn of events after Gronk decided to join the WWE in early March and did appear at the taped Wrestlemania, which was shown in early April. Gronkowski will turn 31 on May 14 and has not played a full season of football since 2011. He did play 13 games in his final season for the Patriots, catching 47 passes for 682 yards with just three TDs.

Now, the Bucs' Super Bowl Odds should continue to improve. They were 17-1 at Fan Duel and 16-1 at Vegas Insider. You can also expect Tampa Bay to deal away tight end O.J. Howard, who was already reportedly on the trade block. They'll now have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Ronald Jones II, Gronkowski and Cameron Brate as weapons for Brady, assuming they deal Howard.
