MIBR vs. FaZe Preview & Prediction - Free 8/20 CS:GO Betting Picks

MIBR and FaZe will meet in the Group B lower bracket round 1 at the ESL One Cologne Europe (Online) tournament. These two teams met only once at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals and MIBR celebrated the victory on Mirage 16-12. The crew who advance to the next round is waiting for the winner of the duel Heretics vs. fnatic. The ESL One Cologne Europe (Online) tournament will run until August 30, and the total prize pool is $325,000.

MIBR did not have the debut they had hoped for at the start of ESL One Cologne Europe. In the opening match, they lost to #5 G2 (16-2 Vertigo, 16-4 Inferno), and will have only one opportunity to make recompense in the lower bracket of the tournament against FaZe. They have not experienced much improvement after adding the new face on the roster Alencar "trk" Rossato, who came as a big reinforcement instead of Ignacio "meyern" Meyer.

The updated roster now looks like this: Epitacio 'TACO' de Melo, Fernando 'fer' Alvarenga, Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo, and Vito 'kNgV-' Giuseppe. Currently, 16th in the world MIBR, with a win rate of 47.4% in the last three months, has three defeats in a row. They have a 100% effect only on Mirage where they have played three times. They are also doing well at Dust2, where they achieved six victories and only two defeats. On all other maps, they have a negative score; the worst is on Overpass 16.7% (1win / 5losses).

FaZe made a nice income at the tournaments this summer. They finished 3rd at the Gamers Without Borders 2020 tournament and won $150,000. The same place they took at the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 Europe but this time with a much smaller cash prize of $20,000 and 190 EPT Points. Again the same place in July at the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Europe Finals ($30,000). They even won some money ($1,500) at the cs_summit 6 Europe tournament where they finished 11th.

At the ESL One Cologne Europe tournament, they started with a 2-0 defeat by Heroic. In that match, not even the perfect statistics of Helvijs 'broky' Saukants couldn’t help the Danes to beat the opponent. There are two newcomers on the roster Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye. FaZe is 10th in the world and has a win rate of 52.6%. The undermost effect they scored on Mirage (28.6%) and Nuke (38.5%).

Pick: FaZe to win (-146 @Betwinner)

MIBR has played terrible in the last three defeats without taking a single map. MIBR will certainly put in much more effort than in the first round, but I think they do not have the strength to win this match. The odds on the favorite is not negligible at all and should be taken into consideration. I will place my bets on FaZe to win.
