NAVI Junior Preview

NAVI Junior is the organization's academy team and this tournament is one of their first events together. The relatively new CS:GO roster has a very young lineup with upcoming players and talented individuals. All the players are from the CIS region and they have put up some commendable efforts recently.

With a 1.16 rating, B1t is the star player for NAVIJunior. The youngster deals an average of eighty damage per round and has a profound impact on the team’s results and chances against stronger opponents. His playstyle involves using his excellent firepower to gain an early advantage for the team. He is often aggressive when needed but also has the sense to fall back to safety and provide his team with the opportunity to maintain this advantage.

Inferno and Dust2 are the best maps for NAVIJunior. The team has a thorough understanding of its CT sided play on Inferno. Quick rotations and timely aggression in Apartments often gives them an advantage in the round.

BIG Academy Preview

BIG Academy is ranked 114th in the world and has a German lineup. The players have had mixed results lately, losing to NEXUS and LDLC. However, BIG Academy has also won matches against FTW and 9INE. The team finished second behind LDLC in the Group D.

Overpass, Nuke and Dust2 are the best maps for BIG Academy. The relative open nature of these maps lends itself to BIG Academy;’s playstyle. While the German players are not afraid to take a passive and more CT oriented approach, they can often be seen pushing through on maps to ensure an early and unexpected advantage. Unfortunately, this tactic does not always work against stronger teams who have done their homework.

Pick: NAVI Junior Handicap -1.5 Maps (-150 @ Bovada)

Despite its relatively new CS:GO roster, NAVI Junior is still the better-ranked roster in this match. The players have proven themselves on other teams and have a higher skill ceiling compared to their German counterparts. I am taking NAVI Junior to sweep this series.
