OG Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 22nd

The mixed bag roster of OG features players from five different countries, and they are one of the best teams competing in this event. The team hasn't been overly active lately, only competing in one event (CS:GO Gamers Without Borders) in the month of May. Dust2 statistically is OG's best map, and they have had a 72.1% win rate on this map after getting the first kill over the past three months.

The most consistent player on OG's roster is mantuu. Over the past three months, he has averaged a nice 0.73 kills per round while only dying 0.6 times per round. CS:GO veteran Aleksib hasn't been playing to his full potential lately, and he could potentially put them at a disadvantage. He's only notched 0.55 kills a round while dying 0.69 times per round over the past three months. Thankfully for OG, this is a contest in which they should win and should be a good time for them to work out some kinks.

KOVA Esports Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 73rd

The Finnish squad KOVA Esports has somewhat fallen off since their 2019 peak of 54th in the HLTV rankings. However, they have been playing much better lately in lower tier events. KOVA Esports has been participating in the WINNERS League Season 4 Europe also, and they have won two of their last three with the only loss being to Nemiga who is a tough team. Nuke is the team's best map by far, and they don't have a win rate higher than 50% on any map over the past three months.

Derkeps and uli make a very strong one-two punch for KOVA Esports. Over the past three months, the duo has averaged 1.55 kills per round while only dying 1.32 times per round. The performance of peku lately has been underwhelming, and has been a downfall of the team. He's only averaging 0.58 kills a round while dying 0.74 times and tends to leave them in bad situations from time to time. KOVA Esports needs peku to play to his full potential, and they will also need another strong showing from both Derkeps and uli to keep around in this contest.

Pick: OG Spread/Handicap -5.5 Rounds (-115 @ Bovada)(1 unit)

I simply have no faith in KOVA Esports right now. Derkeps and uli are a strong pairing, there's no doubt about that, but OG is a tough outing for any opponent. KOVA Esports only has one map in which they have a higher win rate of 50% on over the past three months, and the odds of OG letting them play on this map are slim if they've done their homework. OG's ranking is justified because mantuu is a beast and the entire team seems to do well with managing their economy while playing solidly as a unit. I don't expect OG to have any problems with KOVA Esports as they should will this contest by at least six rounds.
