Week 6 action in the Regular Season portion of the ESEA MDL Season 34: Premier Division - Europe continues with SKADE battling it out with Nordavind. The Regular Season features nine weeks of action with a round-robin league format. Each match in the Regular Season will be a best-of-one-map battle, and the top eight teams will advance to the Playoffs.

SKADE has been a very active team lately, and they are back in action once again. They have been inconsistent, but have the potential to take down any opponent. Overpass has been the team's best map in the more recent months with a 63.6% win rate over the last three months. Something to keep an eye on is the fact that Inferno and Mirage are the only other two maps in which they have a win rate of over 50% on during this same period which isn't overly terrible.

Rainwaker and dennyslaw have been the carriers of the team lately. Over the past three months, Rainwaker has averaged 0.77 kills and only 0.66 deaths per round while dennyslaw averaged 0.72 kills with 0.66 deaths per round over this period. A problem for SKADE has been registering headshots, which can make the world of difference in a match. However, Rainwaker and dennyslaw have shown ability to clutch in situations to bail the team out.

Underperforming has been a major issue for Nordavind lately. This roster has unlimited potential, and when they are clicking they can take anyone down. They very well could've beaten all three opponents that they lost to so far in this tournament. Something that sticks out to me is the fact that Mirage and Overpass are the only two maps over the last three months they hold over a 50% win rate on, although this doesn't necessarily hurt them either.

Nordavind's success comes when the team plays together as a unit. None of their five rostered players have a kill to death ratio much higher than over one. This doesn't necessarily hurt them too much although the lack of a real "team leader" has come back to bite them before. For Nordavind to squeeze a victory here, they will have to have great cohesion as a unit and not rush into things. If they play a methodical game as they have been known to do before, then they should win fairly easy.

I am on SKADE for this contest. There are a few things about Nordavind that are unsettling to me. They don't have any players that really separate themselves from the rest statistically. Every team needs at least one player that can be depended on no matter what. SKADE has Rainwaker and dennyslaw who are a very strong one-two punch. The second thing about Nordavind that scares me is the fact that they've been known to struggle against teams composed such as SKADE. I smell an upset brewing, so I'm riding SKADE in this best-of-one-map match.
