Sprout vs. EC Kyiv, Preview & Prediction - Free 2/1 CS:GO

Sprout is a massive favorite in this Best of 3 encounter when they meet EC Kyiv in the Swiss round 1 of Snow Sweet Snow 1 on Monday. Sprout is almost 60 places ahead of the Ukrainian team in the CS:GO rankings, and losing here is not an option for the favorites.

Sprout Team Stats and Latest Results

Sprout was absent from the CS:GO circus for a month and a half and returned in style, with seven consecutive wins. They beat SSp, ttc, and ALTERNATE aTTaX to win a trophy at the UNITED Pro Series Winter 2020 and earned $19,544 in the process. However, they didn’t display such good performances at the DreamHack Open January 2021 Europe, where they lost to Gambit and Spirit and suffered elimination. Sprout won nine of the previous 12 matches.

During the last three months, Sprout was decent on Nuke (75.0% win rate) and played well on Dust2 (64.3%) and Vertigo (62.5%), while they were below average on Mirage (37.5%) and Inferno (40.0%). Sprout is playing with a new lineup since January 2021 and appeared on 22 maps with a record of 14 wins and eight losses. The team members are Spiidi (1.04 rating), denis (1.00), kressy (1.08), faveN (1.21), and slaxz- (1.19).

EC Kyiv Team Stats and Latest Results

EC Kyiv is one of the newest teams that joined the CS:GO as they were established in November 2020 and have played only nine matches since. Their first ever game was against Espada at the DreamHack Open November 2020 Europe Qualifier, which resulted in a loss. The Ukrainians managed to qualify for the Snow Sweet Snow 1 thanks to victories over SG.pro, Unique, 4glory, and Trident. Out of those nine matches, EC Kyiv won five, which isn’t bad for rookies.

In the previous three months, EC Kyiv was without a loss on Mirage (played once) and Train (played twice), while they were good on Dust2 (66.7%), but failed to get a victory on Overpass (played twice). EC Kyiv didn’t change its squad since formation in November last year and appeared on 18 maps with a record of ten wins and eight losses. The lineup is made of Templ (1.00), Smash (1.01), byr9 (1.07), s4 (1.10), and amster (1.09).

Sprout vs. EC Kyiv Betting Preview

As I mentioned, EC Kyiv played nine games, but they lost only two of them without winning a map. It’s going to be hard to win a map against Sprout, but it surely is not impossible. I expect the underdogs to put up a fight and stay close on at least one map; however, that should be all from them in the opening game of the tournament. Sprout has more experience and games behind them, so I am backing them to secure a 2-0 win. It’s not going to be a blowout win, though.
