Winstrike vs. Project X, Preview & Prediction - Free 1/22 CS:GO

Winstrike is a big favorite in this Best of 3 encounter when they face Project X in the Group B decider match of the Snow Sweet Snow 1 Regionals on Friday. After both teams recorded a win and a loss in the opening two games at the tournament, the winner will progress to Stage 2, while the losing side will be eliminated.

Winstrike Team Stats and Latest Results

Winstrike concluded the last year in style with six consecutive victories. They won the trophy and 1st place at the Dell Gaming League 2020 thanks to a 3-1 win over ex-ETHEREAL in the Grand Final. For that, Winstrike earned $11,000, while they secured a place in the playoffs of the Vulkan Fight Series 2020. Still, following wins over 9INE, MBAPPEKK, and Nexus, Winstrike lost to the eventual winner Gambit and finished in 5th place. Winstrike lost to Project X in the opener at this tournament but bounced back with a win against HellRaisers. Winstrike won ten of the previous 13 matches.

In the last three months, Winstrike was decent on Dust2 (71.4% win rate) and Overpass (66.7%), while their “weakest” displays came on Vertigo (57.1%). Winstrike added Krad (1.13 rating) and Forester (1.04) as new team members. The rest of the lineup is made of NickelBack (1.08), Lack1 (1.09), and El1an (1.25). They played together on six maps so far and recorded three wins and three losses.

Project X Team Stats and Latest Results

Project X also closed 2020 in fine form as they recorded five wins in seven matches, including the victories over Lyngby Vikings and Lilmix at the Vulkan Fight Series 2020. However, they lost to Sinners following a winter break, but they secured four consecutive wins over Young Ninjas, The Incas, NAVI Youth, and Winstrike. After defeating Winstrike to open the Snow Sweet Snow 1 Regionals, Project X lost the next match Trident. Project X won ten of the last 14 games.

During the previous three months, Project X was strong on Overpass (78.6%) and played well on Inferno (60.0%), while they failed to get a win on Dust2 (played three times) and didn’t impress on Nuke (33.3%). Since December 2020, Project X is playing with the same lineup that appeared on 32 maps and recorded 22 wins and ten losses. The team members are Sergiz (1.07), Psycho (0.93), 7oX1C (0.98), SENSEi (1.24), and w0nderful (1.13).

Winstrike vs. Project X H2H Record

These rivals have met only once before, and Project X won that clash earlier at this tournament when it was 2-1 for the Ukrainian side.

Winstrike vs. Project X Betting Preview

Project already proved they can beat favored Winstrike, and I will definitely not going to back the favorites in this one. I don’t think the odds reflect the current quality of these respective teams, and I am sure Winstrike will have a lot of trouble defeating Project X, especially because of the fact they are playing with a new lineup. I do expect another lengthy affair, though, and that’s why I am going with Over 2.5 maps at excellent odds.
