2020 NFL Draft Sleepers: Wide Receivers

2020 NFL Draft Sleepers-Wide Receivers

The NFL Draft is set to take place from April 23-25, with the first round starting on Thursday. We know the big names that have been circulating for weeks. Chase Young, Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Isaiah Simmons. But what about the players the public isn't hearing about? What about guys that could be steals in the early, mid and late-rounds? Let's take a look at five sleepers at wide receiver.

Wide Receivers

1)Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State. Draft projection: 1-2

Comments: Aiyuk is not getting a lot of publicity, because he's only 5-11, 205. Started out at the juco level and played sparingly in his first year at ASU until the end of the season. As a senior, he was first-team All-Pac-12 with 66 catches for 1,192 yards and eight TDs. Very explosive with good speed, though ran a 4.50 40 at the Combine. Not a great time, but he's very good at YAC and shows good speed on the field. Can also return kicks and punts. Still needs work, who doesn't need a playmaker at wide receiver and in the return game. Maybe not be top three but would be a steal in the early second round, if he falls there.

2)Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty. Draft projection: 3-4

Comments: Big receiver at 6-4, 223, who played at a lower-level FBS Independent. That size will make him a very intriguing second or third day pick. Had 79 catches for 1,396 yards with 10 TDs as a senior. Needs to improve route-running, but has good ball skills. Not a burner. Ran a 4.60 at the combine.

3)Gabriel Davis, UCF. Draft projection: 4-5

Comments: Davis has good size at 6-2, 216 and decent speed at 4.54 in the 40. Caught 72 passes for 1,241 yards with 12 TDs and 17.2 ypc average in his final season. Very hard worker and improved each year of his career. Could be a starter and number two receiver in the future.

4)Isaiah Coulter, Rhode Island. Draft projection: 5-6

Comments: An FCS receiver, who was a track star in high school and ran a quality 4.45 at the Combine. Needs some bulk at 6-2, 198. Caught 72 passes for 1,039 yards and eight TDs in his final year. Long frame and good athlete. Good developmental pick in the mid-rounds. Also played with Aaron Parker, another potential draft pick.

5)Kendall Hinton, Wake Forest, Draft projection: 6-7

Comments: Former quarterback moved to wide receiver as a junior. Just 5-10, 193. Smart receiver who can run routes well. Caught 73 passes for 1,001 yards with four TDs. Also can return punts. Smarts should allow him to become a quality receiver, if not a very good slot receiver and return man. Good quickness and change-of-direction.
