Free Picks For Gulfstream Park - 4/23/20

Race 1 of the Gulfstream Park April 23rd racing card features favorite Calentita (7) leaving from the No. 7 post. Calentita takes a big class drop in this start as does Laska out of the 10 post. Princesa Crystal leaving the 9 post could make it a race down the final stretch, while Delia’s Pride (8) will also be in the mix. Calentita (7) to win, Exacta 7-10

Race 2 at Gulfstream on Thursday has a field of just eight horses with Cabrina (6) as the favorite and Water Wizard (5) a close second. However, Trinni Sunshine (4) will surprise the field in this by using a strong back stretch rush and a strong finish to pull past Cabrina at the line by a neck. Trinni Sunshine to win, Exacta is 4-6

Race 3 at Gulfstream has a big field with 16 leaving the gate. One of the favorites will be Awesome Evil (9) who will be racing for the first time on turf but will be carrying a jockey that has been solid on surface changes. DotDotDash (1) will leave off the rail and is running on turf for just the second time however the horse looked very strong in Beyers its last time out. Make a Mint (6) will shine above the rest and pull off the victory in this turf war. Make a Mint (6) to win, Exacta 6-1

Race 4 at Gulfstream features Time to Two Step (4) as the favorite to make her maiden win. However, Stormy Boss (3) was a loser by just a neck the last time out and will be near the front at the line. Samoa (1) leaves on the rail from the post and it could be difficult to catch down the backstretch. Time to Two Step to win, Exacta is 1-3

Race 5 is on turf at Gulfstream and will feature just eight horses leaving the gate. The horses to focus on in this race are Valdolobo (7) who has finished first or second since arriving in the US. Willing to Speed (6) has very strong closing speed, while Eight Ain’t Enough (2) was a winner last time out, going wire-to-wire the first time on turf. Eight Ain’t Enough makes it two straight on turf with the win. Eight Ain’t Enough to win, Exacta 2-6

Race 6 at Gulfstream will feature Untitled (2) who finished second last time out in a Grade 3 Stakes and could have an easy time of it in this one. No Getting Over Me (1) also performed well in a stakes race last time out and can not be overlooked. Roman Empire (3) did not perform well last time out but should improve thanks to being back on dirt. First and Three (3) has finished second in three consecutive starts and must be considered here. Untitled (2) to win, Exacta 2-1

Race 7 on the Gulfstream card will feature Dr. Edgar (11) who performed very well in a Graded Stakes race last time out and will be the horse to beat here. Piven (1) has raised strongly on Turf in the past and should be considered to finish in the top three here. Morocco (12) is coming off a claiming win and although has a terrible post at 12, could be a threat down the stretch. Grand Journey (9) could be a threat during the last furlong. Dr. Edgar (11) to win, Exacta 11- 9

Race 8 will be tough to pick simply because there are just seven horses leaving the gate and each of the seven is a threat to finish first. However, Topo Grigio (4) has looked strong in the last two races and always puts in a big finish. Bird Map (8) cannot be overlooked due to excellent speed around the final corner while Money Never Sleeps (2) will be in the mix until fading late down the home stretch. Topo Grigio (4) to win, Exacta 4-8

Race 9 will feature Temple (1) leaving from the rail. Temple rallied late in its last outing and just missed but this race will be slightly longer which will work in its favor. Ry’s the Guy (7) possesses good speed and could be difficult to catch if able to mount an early lead. Krampus (9) also rallied late it's last time out but came up short. Rijeka (10) was a winner in his last outing and just because of that cannot be overlooked. Temple (1) to win, Exacta 1-9

Race 10 will complete the Thursday race card at Gulfstream Park and feature Sweet Blossom (3) who will close strongly and because the race lacks any overall speed will be there in the end. Yako (12) may not be in the winner's circle following this race but has an excellent chance to finish in the money. Tribly (5) has performed well at the track and is suited for this distance. Sweet Blossom (3) to win, Exacta 3-12
