NFL Free Agency Recap 3/27-3/29 - Things Are Slowing Down
We knew that things would slow down after all of the early action in free agency, and although there's a lot of big names still available, teams seem to be taking their time making a deal.
Detroit kicked off Friday's action when they beefed up their linebacker core with the addition of Reggie Ragland. The Rams re-signed defensive tackle Michael Brockers for a three year, 24-million dollar contract as well. This was after he was expected to sign with Baltimore, but they backed off due to health concerns.
The only other move of note Friday was Dallas picking up veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein for three years and seven and a half million dollars.
Saturday didn't feature but three signings, however we saw two of the bigger names remaining ink a deal. The Chiefs made a great move when they resigned lightning-fast wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for a one year contract for right at 2.3 million dollars. The Cowboys made another addition to their defensive front when they picked up defensive tackle/nose tackle Dontari Poe for two years and 10.5 million dollars. The last deal of the day saw the Giants sign veteran journeyman tight end Eric Tomlinson.
Sunday featured another short list of deals, although we saw two stellar deals. Washington kicked off the day with a great addition to their secondary, signing cornerback Ronald Darby for a one year, four million dollar contract. The other big addition of the day came from Baltimore. They nabbed former Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe for one year and three million dollars. There were only two other signings Sunday, and both featured wide receivers. Detroit added former Green Bay Packer Geronimo Allison for a one year tenure and the Chargers picked up prospect Darius Jennings as well.
