NFL Super Bowl 58 Sleepers

NFL Super Bowl 58 Sleepers

The Kansas City Chiefs are favored to win Super Bowl 58, but in a league full of parity, you must remember the potential sleepers. In the NFL, you can usually expect six teams to make the playoffs each season who missed the playoffs the previous year. The Super Bowl has seen its fair share of longshot winners. Kurt Warner’s 1999 Rams were +15000 to win the Super Bowl in the preseason, and the 2017 Eagles were +6000.

Overall, ten teams have won the title with preseason odds of +2200 or longer, and here are my favorite sleepers who have the potential to make you a huge payday!

Baltimore Ravens (+2000)

The Ravens have the 8th-best odds to win the Super Bowl, but that +2000 is still a juicy bet for a team with this strong roster. After hearing about it non-stop, the Lamar Jackson contract dispute is finally over. Jackson will play without distractions and prove he is worth his payday. Odell Beckham Jr. joins the attack but is far from the only weapon at Jackson’s disposal. The Ravens play the Texans, Colts, Cardinals, and Seahawks early; they will be able to coast into the playoffs ready to make some noise.

Miami Dolphins (+2500)

The famous saying is that defense wins championships, but the recent success of the Kansas City Chiefs shows that an unstoppable offense often benefits every aspect of the game. NFL rules award high-powered offenses, which is what Miami has. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are the fastest wide receiver duo in the league. Tua has also been steadily improving and was putting up excellent numbers last season before his injury. Miami started last season 8-4 with quality wins over Baltimore and Buffalo. If they get into the playoffs, they can make a run.

Chargers (+2500)

The Chargers have recently been known as a team with plenty of talent that needs to meet expectations. Justin Herbert is a top-tier quarterback already and is young enough to continue improving. Herbert’s growth may be enough to power this team late in the playoffs. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are excellent weapons on the outside, and they went receiver in the first round, taking Quentin Johnston out of TCU. Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Derwin James Jr. headline an improving defense. The Chargers have the talent to make a Super Bowl run, and this may be the year they finally break through.

Vikings (+3500)

The Vikings were 11-0 in one-score games last year. The media will tell you this guarantees a regression, but that is not necessarily true. While 11-0 is unlikely to happen again, it does not necessitate a losing record in close games the following year. Winning close games comes down to coaching and execution. Kirk Cousins is an innovative and reliable quarterback, and the Vikings are preparing to become an even more pass-happy offense with the first-round pick of Jordan Addison and the departure of Dalvin Cook. +3500 for a team that may win their own division provides excellent value here.

Titans (+8000)

If you are looking for that high-payout sleeper that no one else is talking about, why not risk with the Titans? They play in the weakest division in the AFC, which will allow them to rack up some wins for a chance at a playoff spot. Tennessee has plenty of options at QB with Tannehill, Willis, and Levis, allowing them to play whoever the hot hand is at the end of the season. This team was the number 1 seed in the AFC just two seasons ago and just added Deandre Hopkins on the outside. If you want a high-risk, high-reward pick, take the Titans.
