Team Liquid vs. Gen.G Preview & Prediction - Free 6/12 CS:GO Betting Picks

The lower bracket of the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: North America are set to begin, and the opening contest should be a fun one between Team Liquid and Gen.G. The winner of this contest will move on to take on the winner of MiBR and Cloud9 while the loser will be eliminated. These are two of the top teams in the world, and they've participated in many of the same events despite not playing each other recently.

Team Liquid Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 6th

The US/Canadian squad of Team Liquid has been up and down lately. They only have a 52.6% win rate over the last three months, but they have also been playing some extremely tough competition during this time. A 2-0 blanking of MiBR was all that Team Liquid needed to advance from the group stage as they had lost their first two matches 1-2 to Chaos and FURIA. Something that makes Team Liquid such a tough outing is the fact that they don't have any maps in which they really struggle with. In fact, the lowest win rate they have on any map in competition is 50%.

Veteran player Stewie2K hasn't been nearly as good as he once was, but he's gotten help from other players. NAF and EliGE have been the driving force behind the team lately. This duo has averaged 1.49 kills per round while only being killed 1.27 times a round during the last three months. Twistzz hasn't been bad either with an average of 0.69 kills and only 0.62 deaths per round during this same period. Team Liquid can make quick work in this contest, they just need to take their time and not rush into battle. Despite shaky results lately, Team Liquid is not a team that can be taken lightly in any contest.

Gen.G Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 12th

Gen.G has been massively underperforming lately, and this has been evident by their results. Over the last three months, they have a win rate of only 50% which is not quite what you'd expect from the 12th ranked team in the world. Their 2-1 win over Evil Geniuses was just enough to make it through the group stage as they lost 0-2 to both 100 Thieves and Cloud9. Map selection will be key for Gen.G as they only have two maps in their arsenal in which they have win rates of at least 50% on. The team has a 66.7% win rate on the map Mirage and a 50% win rate on Dust2.

The entire team of Gen.G has seen their kill to death ratios suffer mightily during this tough stretch. In fact, none of the players on the roster have a kill to death ratio much higher than even. BnTeT, autimatic and koosta are the three players that tend to step to the plate for Gen.G in the contests that they. The play of daps has been somewhat of a hinderance over the last three months with an average of only 0.56 kills per round while being killed 0.67 times a round. Gen.G needs a big win in the worst way as they look to return to their previous dominant form.

Pick: Team Liquid Spread -1.5 Maps (+150 @ Bovada)

I am taking Team Liquid with the spread in this battle. Nicely put, Gen.G has not been playing well lately. Many of their losses have come to top ranked teams which is the reason their world ranking hasn't fallen off a cliff with them. Team Liquid hasn't been consistent by any means, but I expect them to dominate Gen.G. Team Liquid tends to win by a 2-0 score when they do win, and I expect this to be the case in this contest as well.
